With the further development of globalization，cities around the world are participating more deeply in international organizations，and the level of participation has also become an important criterion for measuring cities’ international influence. International organizations provide an effective platform for cities to conduct external cooperation and share urban governance experiences，which have a significant impact on local economic and social development. An increasing number of Chinese cities have also begun to engage in international organizations based on each city’s resources，and to actively expand international exchanges and cooperation. Having a long history of foreign exchanges and rich experience in international participation，Guangzhou should grasp new opportunities，taking more targeted and operable measures to improve the participation in international organizations in future.
