This report aims to analyze the bumpy journey and successful experience of Netflix. The first part reviews how Netflix started out as a DVD rental business,developed a completely new streaming business from scratch with the help of the Internet,and finally focused on original content investment. The second part introduces the fierce competition in the streaming media market,and the market environment that Netflix faces through introducing several major rivals,such as Disney,Amazon,HBO and Apple.
