Yunnan Province has carefully implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and the deployment of the Party Central Committee，combined with the local reality，deployed and promoted the development of media convergence and development from 2018 to 2019. Media convergence of provincial media extends outward and downward，and strives to realize the interconnection and communication among provincial，autonomous prefecture，and county media，expands the library of news materials and news production chain；the convergence development of prefecture-level media is uneven，some media actively create conditions to activate the development of media convergence，while others’ media convergence is progressing slowly；the construction of county level integrated media centers has been attached great importance by provincial party committees and governments，and the overall progress of media convergence has been steady，maintained a sound momentum of development. At present，the problems in the development of media convergence contain the lack of initiative on a low proportion of media，the instability of the media system and mechanism，and the short of funds and professional talents. To propel the progress of media convergence，it is necessary to further strengthen the top-level design，coordinate planning and deployment，and further rationalize the institution and mechanism，increase financial support，establish a scientific assessment and evaluation incentive mechanism，offer training for employees，and mobilize resources in all aspects to support development of media convergence.
