In order to understand the current situation of media convergence and development in Chongqing from 2018 to 2019，the research group investigated the mainstream media and some county level media in Chongqing. The study found that Chongqing mainstream media thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on development of media convergence，insisting on “Orientation as the soul”，expanding and strengthing mainstream public opinion；insisting on “Content is king” to enhance the value of high-quality content；adhering to the “innovation is the key” and restructured the new convergence mechanism；adhering to the “technology empowerment” to amplify the effectiveness of the whole；and continuing to “adapt measures to local conditions” and promoting county-level media development.
