This article tries to explore the subjective and objective characteristics of benefit-seeking phenomenon in the field of youth’s marriage and love and its origin. The analysis has found that contemporary youth’s values in marriage and love has showed some benefit orientation：in the process of spouse selection，over half of young people would emphasize “benefit” factors，including their intended spouses’ social-economic status，family background，etc.；in the process of preparing for marriage ceremony，they would have more complex demand for the type and amount of economical consumption. From the perspective of macro structure，the imbalance of sex ratio in marriage market and the prevalence of caring about reputation and comparing unrealistically are external influencing factors，which could cause the above phenomenon；from the perspective of micro individual，the egoistic values based on the principle of rationality is also the important impetus，which could cause the benefit-seeking behavior in marriage. On the basis of empirical analysis，this article tries to further propose several countermeasures and suggestions，which could help the youth to set up positive view of marriage and love.
