The view of marriage and love could influence the value orientation of love and marriage behavior directly，and have important influences on the youth’s spouse selection behavior and marriage life. Using the data from “The Survey Questionnaire on Contemporary Youth’s Ideas on Marriage and Love” conducted by the Central Committee of Communist Youth League，we try to analyze the current situation of contemporary youth’s view of marriage and love from three aspects，namely the view of spouse selection，the view of love and the view of marriage. According to the findings，the contemporary youth’s view of marriage and love would present both modern characteristic and traditional characteristic. For the youth，the space for spouse selection is increasingly bigger，the mode of spouse selection is increasingly diversified，the standard of spouse selection would more emphasize the affection，and they tend to become more independent in marriage selection and inhabitation after marriage. However，influenced by traditional filial piety culture，family culture and social structure，the contemporary youth would also keep the aspect of tradition in the process of marriage and love. In the process of marriage and love，on the one hand，the youth would be influenced by the process of modernization and individualization；on the other hand，they would also be restricted by special cultural tradition and social structure in our country.
