Over the 10 years after Macau’s Reunification with China,the economic progress has attracted the attention of the world,while the political practice has also found her own way.The government has dealt with the relations with the central government well,in accordance with the principle of “One Country,Two Systems” and the Basic Law,and has coordinated the relations among different strata of the community with its best efforts.Political stability has been sought for at times of leaping economic development and accelerated social transformation.With historical institutionalism as the basic perspective,this article analyses the historical background of consensus politics of Macau,the challenges it is facing under the new circumstances,and proposes to build a new consensus politics and its major characteristics.
