This report examines the science and technology（S＆T） policy and development in Macau.Macau government attaches great importance to S＆T after its return to China.The government takes powerful measures to improve the scientific research environment in Macau.These measures include，for example，publishing “Basic Rules for Policies Regarding Science and Technology”，establishing and adjusting the organizational structure，increasing investment in S＆T.The continuous support from the Macau government brings great changes to the S＆T development in Macau：better atmosphere of scientific research，more scientific output，more diverse Popularization of Science activities and closer S＆T cooperation with the mainland.There are also a lot of scientific and technological achievements that can be transfer to the industry.Traditional Chinese Medicine research and development （R＆D） outsourcing，design of application specific integrated circuit，energy conservation and environmental protection technology transfer，development of software and hardware related to travel，gambling and MICE industry have the huge potential and are capable to become a brand new direction of the Diversification of Macau’s Economy.
