The China-US trade war launched by Trump Administration and its technology and investment restrictions on China has caused a free fall of Chinese direct investment in the US. The greenfield investment，however，remains a bright spot. While the US strategic and technology contention on China will be a protracted process，the economic complementary of the two great nations will continue to anchor the trade and investment relationship on a track for cooperation. Chinese businesses need to be persistent and good at investment in the US. The two governments should keep dialogue and consultation and Chinese businesses should orient themselves on greenfield，grassroot investment based on the local needs. Over the long term，“Invest USA” will continue to present a vast opportunity.
