This report briefly summarizes the national laws，regulations and strategic policies related to membranes. It summarizes the main membrane technology types and their characteristics by category，and analyzes the corresponding development status and effects of the membrane industry at home and abroad for different membrane technology types. At the same time，according to different membrane technology types，typical engineering cases with historical significance in the development process of membrane treatment technology in China are listed，and the development prospect of membrane industry is discussed from the aspect of water regime and membrane technology research in China. After the country’s vigorous promotion，the membrane research and development institutions continue to improve and innovate according to national conditions. China’s membrane industry already has internationally leading independent intellectual property rights in various fields such as “production-learning-research” and “technology-process-engineering”. The domestic production of water treatment membrane water treatment methods such as sewage purification，pure water purification，and seawater desalination is realized，with mature technology，refined technology，and perfect engineering. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area，as China’s key development area，has ecological priority and green development. It can fully realize the construction of “membrane water services” with Chinese characteristics in terms of municipal sewage，industrial wastewater，municipal drinking water，seawater desalination and membrane integrated systems.
