The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area，as a promoter of the nation-wide openness pattern in the new era and playing an important role in China’s development history，has played a supporting and leading role in the national economic development and opening up to the outside world. Network construction is essential for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The extremely uneven spatial and temporal distribution of water resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area，severely wasted water resources，severely polluted river sections and over-exploited local water resources have caused water resources to be affected to varying degrees in terms of water quality and quantity；cities rapid development，water quality pollution caused by new and old water pipe construction and transformation，and the optimization and construction of the water supply pipe network in the Greater Bay Area are essential. This article discusses the optimization of water network construction from the aspects of water supply network reconstruction，water resource optimization allocation，standard formulation，and smart network construction，so as to build a high-quality water supply network system and achieve more efficient water resource management.
