The east of England is the second largest region of the UK adjacent to London. It has been the experimental field trying to promote the development of regional integration and improving the local governance structure. Three rounds of regional strategic planning have been perfected in this century. Apart from the formulation of the good plan，torment of tossing around happened in the implementation so that the UK missed strategic opportunity and faced the great change of Brexit without any preparation. This lesson must be learned.
