From the perspective of physical geography，economic geography and cultural geography，taking into account the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal，natural disasters and war disasters，to observe the history of Jiangsu’s development，we can find that the four characteristics of Jiangsu culture are openness，be lowing，pragmatism and world sentiment，and “Golden mean culture” is the overall expression of Jiangsu culture. In order to inherit and innovate Jiangsu culture，we need to deal with three relations：people and nature，regional culture and Jiangsu culture，and openness and perseverance.
