Ideology and culture is the precursor of a society，advanced ideology and culture play a leading role in social development. Since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China，Jiangsu attaches great importance to ideology and culture propaganda work and mainstream ideology construction. Jiangsu Province has achieved remarkable results in building and leading highland through the following activities including commemoration of Marx’s birthday，construction of Marxist theoretical work platform，theoretical arming of new ideas，ideological and political course construction in colleges and universities，winter training work for Party members and the advancement of civilization practice center in the new era. Therefore，Jiangsu has accumulated rich experience in the following areas，including the role of think tank played by social sciences，grasping the orientation of cultural construction，improving ideological guidance and management，strengthening the construction of social mentality and integrating ideological and cultural resources from grassroots. Jiangsu should strengthen value guidance，cultural cohesion and spiritual impetus based on new tasks and features of cultural construction in the new era to further enhance the role of jiangsu’s ideology and culture in leading the highland，thus providing strong ideological guarantee and spiritual support for jiangsu’s high-quality development.
