Jiangsu is a large province of real economy，with the largest scale of manufacturing industry in China，complete categories of manufacturing industries，complete industrial supporting facilities and the largest manufacturing cluster in China. In recent years，the quality and efficiency of Jiangsu’s manufacturing industry have been steadily improved，and the strength of market players has been continuously enhanced. However，there are still a series of problems，such as high external dependence on technology，lack of industry leading enterprises，weak leadership of industrial clusters，lagging construction of platform carriers，and insufficient supply of high-end elements. In the face of the opportunities and challenges brought by the changes in the economic development environment at home and abroad，according to the requirements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial Committee，this paper puts forward the strategies and suggestions for the construction of an independent and controllable advanced manufacturing system in Jiangsu from the aspects of technological innovation，industrial chain integration，industrial cluster cultivation，information-based guidance，standard assistance，system support，etc.
