Since 2010，on the basis of deepening the pattern of home-based，community-depended，institution-supported，and medical care combined elderly care service，Shanghai has continued to promote the construction of “five in one” social elderly care service system and constantly meet the needs of social elderly care service. However，in the face of expanding，diversified，specialized and regional demand for elderly care services，there are major problems such as obvious regional differences in the supply and utilization，prominent structural contradictions，urgent need to strengthen the team，the deepening of social participation，the promotion of intellectualization and so on. To deepen the elderly care service in Shanghai，it should pay attention to improving the efficiency of the use of elderly care facilities，focusing on expanding the supply of medical rehabilitation and nursing services，effectively strengthening the construction of the team，continuing to deepen the reform of the socialized operation mechanism and deepening regional cooperation in providing services for the elderly in the Yangtze River Delta.
