The 2022 Winter Olympic Games is approaching，less than 1000 days from the official opening. It is important to study the development situation of the Winter Olympic Games and explore the development trend. This paper studies the development of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games with the methods of literature review and on-the-spot investigation. The results show that：① The preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games are basically normal in five aspects：venues and infrastructure，test events，cultural elements，Winter Olympic talent training，and project training；② The 2022 Winter Olympic Games have the advantages of building winter cities and Winter Olympic business cards，favorable policies for winter，full social power，creating a new record in the development of China’s winter sports，and the Olympic movement entering a new development process；③ The 2022 Winter Olympic Games mainly involves 300 million people in the continuous development of winter sports，the continuous promotion of winter activities on campus，the concept of sustainable development deeply rooted in the hearts of the people，and the implementation of the heritage strategic plan as scheduled；④ The 2022 Winter Olympic Games mainly describes the prospects of changing the development trend of “strong ice and weak snow”，accelerating the construction of winter sports venues and facilities，holding winter cultural theme promotion activities，accelerating the construction of winter sports competition system，and significantly improving the level of winter sports.
