In the background of China’s increasing demand for international trade and the improvement of its foreign trade environment，the economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries achieved a relatively rapid growth in 2018，presenting the characteristics of extensive cooperation fields，improved cooperation mechanism and remarkable cooperation results on the whole. However，many problems are yet to be solved in the field of unbalanced industrial structure，inadequate infrastructure construction and vulnerability to international market fluctuations. Since 2018，the construction of the Community of Portuguese-speaking countries has been accelerating. Establishment of trade zones，demand for infrastructure and the free flow of trade in Portuguese-speaking countries have achieved fast development as well. The Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area Plan will bring new opportunities to China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Macao，as a cooperation platform between China and the Lusophone world，shall extend the scope and function of this strategic role and promote it to be “Platform+”. It is of great significance for Macao to further its cooperation with other cities in the bay area to establish the “Portuguese-speaking National Industrial Park”. This further promotes Macao’s participation in the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
