With the theme “Resilient and Innovative” in 2018，ASEAN has got further development in the integration and regional cooperation. In the economic and social collaboration，ASEAN started ASEAN Smart City Network and promoted sustainable and inclusive development. In the political and security cooperation，ASEAN continued to conduct a standard operation for working together in internet security，anti-terrorism and defence. In constructing framework with ASEAN centrality，ASEAN has made headway in RCEP negotiations，building defence trust and making a coordination in the framework of “ASEAN+1”. Base on this and the new theme “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability” in 2019，the role of ASEAN as regional actor would be firmed up and gradually transform to a new international role as global actor.
