Based on the data and materials of China’s book foreign trade from 2009 to 2018，this paper analyses the current development trend of China’s book copyright trade，and concludes that China’s book foreign trade has a strong development momentum in both export and import；electronic publications have great potential；the trade deficit of copyright has been existing for a long time，but its import ratio has gradually narrowed；the regional structure of book copyright output has been improved；the proportion of countries along “the Belt and Road” has increased；the publishing enterprises actively explore overseas channels；the national key book promotion projects are abundant；and the book exhibition vigorously promotes the book copyright trade development. At the same time，there are still some problems：the content structure of China’s book export needs to be optimized；the quality of electronic publications needs to be improved；and it is urgent to further refine the statistical classification of copyright trade. It is suggested that we should pay more attention to electronic publications，fully integrate the exhibition economy，cultivate translation talents，and promote the quality as well as the efficiency of book publishing in foreign trade.
