Natural disasters have the characteristics of sudden，uncertain，extensive，harmful and so on. The main causes of natural disasters are natural variation and artificial influence. How to correctly understand and evaluate natural disasters is both a basic link and an important link for disaster prevention and mitigation. This paper adopts the index system of disaster risk evaluation which accords with the actual situation of Henan province. On this basis，the disaster risk of 18 cities in Henan province was evaluated. Finally，through the risk index of Henan Province，the risk ranking is calculated and the risk map is presented. The evaluation results can clearly observe the risk status in various areas of Henan Province，which is helpful for government departments to clarify the focus of disaster prevention and reduction，and then strengthen the risk management of natural disasters in Henan province，and improve the risk status.
