Neighboring countries have had a profound impact on the economic situation and political situation of China and the world. Based on the national opinion poll data of the Chinese and American people’s world outlooks from the Institute of National Communication Strategy （INCS），Huazhong University of Science and Technology 2017-2018，this report starts with the six aspects of national strength evaluation，interest level，visit status，understanding level，impression score and relationship perception，and depicts the concept of neighboring countries in China. The survey results show that the Chinese public believes that Russia has played an important role in today’s international affairs. Japan has strong economic strength. The most interested neighbors with the most frequent visits are Japan. The most familiar neighbors are Japan，Russia and South Korea. Pakistan，Russia，and North Korea are mainly regarded as “partner countries.” Japan is mainly regarded as a “competitor country”.
