The project team of “third-party assessment on the openness of court trial” from the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences continued to assess the openness of court trial in the national courts in 2019. As the result of the third-party assessment of the openness of court trial in China in 2018，the report provides a detailed introduction to the principles，targets，and methods of the assessment，objectively presents and analyzes the basic situation and major progresses of the assessment，summarizes the achievements and experiences of the openness of court trial in China，points out the existing deficiencies in the system，and puts forward suggestions on its improvement.
