As an important type of distinctive villages，cultural villages are of great significance in implementing the national new urbanization strategy. Henan is rich in cultural resources，prominent in geographical advantages，prompt in cultural tourism economy，and swift in traffic construction，all of which have brought Henan a lot of convenience in setting up distinctive villages. Henan cultural tourism resources are so abundant in category that many types of villages are scattered over the province，of which the main types are as follows：historical and cultural villages，sports leisure villages，folk villages，and ecological villages. The development of the distinctively cultural villages usually relies on the local cultural resources，government leading and social participation. However，problems are still prominent：there are not province special policies，the vision cannot keep up with the latest development，the function of distinctive industries are not strong enough to give play in support and leading，and supporting facilities lag behind，etc.. Suggestions are promoted as follows：widen our horizon，do a good top-level design，push out special policies，perfect the relevant laws and regulations，highlight the local distinctiveness，make pillar industries bigger and stronger，strengthen the construction of basic facilities，and increase our capability of management.
