In 2019，foreign trade in Fengxian showed a slightly weak overall performance affected by the international political and economic situation. In the first seven months，the total value of imports and exports in Fengxian which accounted for 2.67% of the total value of Shanghai’s foreign trade was 49.21 billion yuan，down 4.5% compared with up 21.7% in the same period of last year，the export value was 26.54 billion yuan，down 7.9%，and the import value was 22.67 billion yuan，down 0.1%. In the first eight months of 2019，the contract amount of FDI attracted by Fengxian was $636 million，up 25.3%，the actual amount in place of FDI was $202 million，up 18.5%. Overall，the external economic situation of Fengxian in 2019 is the epitome of the deterioration of international trade condition，but the expansion of Shanghai FTA and the continuous deepening of “One Belt And One Road” initiative will bring more opportunities for the future development of external economy of Fengxian.
