The introduction of the “one Belt and one Road” initiative has deepened cooperation between China and the countries along the Silk Road in the cultural field. In this context，the Silk Road International Theatre Union was established. It is the first cross-regional and cross-national theatre alliance in the world，providing China’s creativity and China’s program for the difficult problems in the world stage art field. The Silk Road International Theatre Union is a platform for information exchange，co-production and co-exhibition. It will become a global theatrical Union covering “one Belt and one Road” and an extended area，forming a virtuous circle of International Theater Union operation platform，giving full play to the “engine” role of culture，integrating cultural resources，channels and spectators，and developing deep-seated，diversified and effective communication and cooperation projects，and activating the cultural creativity of the whole society. The establishment of the Silk Road International Theatre Union helped China’s performing arts groups to establish a global vision for the first time，opening up their programs in terms of creativity，planning，production and market expansion. It also helped to enhance the appreciation and self-renewal ability of domestic performing arts groups at all levels，absorb and digest various concepts of performing arts and develop various forms. Innovation has a subtle learning and learning effect.
