The Yangtze River Delta region holds nearly 4.1% of China’s agricultural land and about 9.3% of cultivated land，carrying more than 12.7% of the country’s agricultural population，investing 7.9% of the country’s agricultural investment，and producing 13.7% of the country’s agricultural value added in 2018. Compared with the planting industry，the fishery and service industry in the Yangtze River Delta region has a higher proportion in the country. It is the main producing area of rice，oil，tea，silkworm cocoons，citrus，cotton，camellia seed and aquatic products. From the perspective of land unit production，the yield of grain and rapeseed in the Yangtze River Delta region is significantly higher than the national average. From the perspective of development trends，the area of agricultural land in the Yangtze River Delta has shown a downward trend in recent years，and grain output continues to grow. The proportion of the employed population in the primary industry has been declining year by year. In 2017，the proportion of agricultural employment in the Yangtze River Delta to the national agricultural employment population was the same as that of the previous year，and the national share of its agricultural investment has increased. In 2018，the contribution of agriculture in the Yangtze River Delta to the national agricultural economy declined compared to the previous year. From the perspective of agricultural modernization，agricultural science and technology progress contribution rate in the Yangtze River Delta region is generally higher than the national average，and the overall mechanization level and facility level are generally higher too. In 2019，the provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Delta region will continue to implement the rural revitalization strategy，continue to promote Agricultural supply side reform，adhere to the green ecological orientation，accelerate the integration of rural primary and secondary industries，and promote the high quality development of agriculture.
