Artificial intelligence technology has a broad application prospect in the field of special education. This paper reviews the application status and demand of artificial intelligence technology in special education industry，expounds the application exploration of artificial intelligence technology in teaching environment and curriculum，and finally analyzes the opportunities and challenges of the application of artificial intelligence technology in special education. It is found that AI technology has obvious effect in the application of public welfare for the persons with disabilities，which can promote the integration of education and the construction of barrier free environment. However，it is facing the challenges of the initial application of technology and little economic value. In the future application，we should strengthen the correct guidance of public opinion，increase policy support and capital investment.
