At present，China is in the sprint stage of surmounting the middle income trap. Facing new challenges in the new situation，China should give full play to the advantage of large economic leeway，deepen the implementation of regional coordinated development strategy，and plan and cultivate a number of new regional economic growth points. Anhui，Jiangxi，Hubei，and Hunan which have sustained rapid growth of around 8% since the 18^th CPC National Congress，are identified as strategic priorities. They will be built into the second echelon of surmounting the middle-income trap after the eastern region，through initiatives such as facilitating major transportation infrastructure connectivity，creating open channels for the Belt and Road，expanding the real economy，and promoting urbanization. This is of great significance for China to maintain medium- and high-speed economic growth，smoothly move into high-income countries，and realize the goal of basically achieving socialist modernization in 2035.
