At present，there are nearly 800 characteristic towns in China at the provincial level，and even more at municipal level. Their uneven development has attracted wide attention from many participants such as policy makers，builders，and investors. A relevant evaluation system for screening high-quality characteristic towns is hoped. This report puts forward an evaluation index including four dimensions and 26 indicators. The evaluation reflects the competitiveness of characteristic towns，and provides a basis for decision-making of all participants.
