To better understand the development status of media convergence in Chongqing，the research group visited Chongqing Media Group，Chongqing Broadcasting Group，Chongqing News Portal and Chongqing Daily News Group for in-depth investigation from August to September 2018. This review begins with the analysis on the four aspects of communication system，cutting-edge technology，industrial chain layout and localization practice，and introduces the advanced experience and practice of major media groups in Chongqing respectively. Research findings are：Chongqing city newspaper cluster has reformed to establish Chongqing City Media Group；major media push forward the construction of convergence media center and open up the whole process of information production；the use of cutting-edge technologies such as big data and VR to create new media products；the creation of high-quality news content，taking content production as its foundation；multi-dimensional and diversified industrial layout has taken shape to strengthen external cooperation and explore sustainable development models.
