Health management is an essential part of general practitioner’s job content. People’s health demand is constantly updated and differentiated with the development of disease spectrum and science technology. General medicine and health management will joint more tightly under the new situation. The core ability of general practice is helpful to meet residents’ health requirement. We combed the relations between general medicine and health management in this article，and described the history and status of the health management job in community health care centers. We concluded that there is a bright future for general practitioners to do the job of health management in community health care centers in China.
