In order to master the current situation，development trend and problems of the health management，We investigate the number，scale，organization construction and service capabilities of health management institutions in the mainland of China. The results show that the health management industry in China has maintained a rapid development momentum since 2000. The coverage of health examination has further expanded to underdeveloped economy areas. The number of health management institutions has increased greatly，the number of service personnel and annual average income have increased considerably，and the service content and quality have been improved. Obviously，it is developing towards specialization，customization，informationization and standardization. However，there are still some problems and challenges worth paying attention to，such as unbalanced regional development，low quality supervision，homogeneous price competition，outstanding shortage of human resources and talents，uneven professional technical level and service capacity，incomplete service chain，standard deficiency，etc. Therefore，it is necessary to speed up the construction of quality supervision and integrity system，to speed up formatting the health examination service items，to speed up the skill training，to speed up the study of standards. Only in this way can promote the better service，higher quality and better results of physical examination.
