China's urban management system reform has received primarily success during the past few years, especially during the period of the 11th Five Year Plan. The government has turned the working strategy from simply supervising to providing services to the citizens. Many places have set up their framework of Digital Urban Management System, and Grids Urban Management System. Certain place began to induce market-oriented managing tools, and had received complimentary remarks. Generally speaking, the reform of urban management system is running well. However, there still remain problems to be solved as malignant cases are still being reported from time to time. This paper investigated the origin of the present urban management system and manuscript the status of the implementation of urban managing activities, through which to find a better solution for the in-depth reform of the urban management system. <<
