The research reveals the development status of private hospitals in Jiangsu Province，and provides effective policy Suggestions for further encouraging and attracting social capital to invest in medical and health care fields. Method：Use the China Statistical Yearbook of Health and Family Planning，Jiangsu Health Development Statistics Bulletin，and the relative date provided by Jiangsu Health and Family Planning Commission Information Center，some private hospitals. Descriptive analysis and comparative analysis are adopted to study the number，grade，bed allocation，health human resources，medical service quantity，operating income and expenditure，service efficiency and medical expenses of private hospitals in Jiangsu province in 2012-2016. Results：At present，private hospitals in Jiangsu province are growing rapidly as a whole，and the number of hospitals，number of beds，service quantity and other medical service market share have all increased rapidly，but there are still a series of problems such as unclear market positioning，shortage of medical and health resources，and difficulty in implementing policies. Conclusion：Private hospitals should adhere to diversified development and correct positioning，strengthen their own talent construction，and form a talent reserve. The government should do a good job in government supervision and standardize the medical service market.
