Constructing the modern university system is an important task in the reform of the higher education system. At present，the development of private colleges and universities is facing an important point of development towards connotation，and the construction of a modern university system with Chinese characteristics and adapted to the characteristics of private colleges and universities is a “booster” to effectively promote the reform and innovation of private colleges and universities. It is also a “system dividend” to promote the transformation and development of private universities. Based on the analysis of the significance of the construction of modern university system in private colleges and universities，the constitution of three private universities in Henan，an important carrier of modern university system，was selected as a blueprint，and the characteristics of the construction of modern university system in private universities in Henan were compared. The author puts forward the way of constructing the modern university system in Henan private universities.
