Many studies have shown a characteristic fact of China's consumption rate: Although China's economic growth is much higher than the average of the world, the consumption rate has declined year by year and is lower than the world average. This article discusses the characteristics and facts of China ’s consumption rate and the stability of economic growth since the reform and opening up. The first section analyzes the consumption rate of China and the world ’s major countries through a horizontal comparison, and then analyzes whether China ’s consumption rate is low. The second section roughly analyzes the changes in the stability of China's economic growth since the reform and opening up through the changes in the growth rates of various components of demand and supply. The third section studies the factors that affect the final consumption rate, and uses the statistical data of China to make a rough empirical analysis.
