The research focuses on contemporary youth’s demands on rights and interests，recognition on laws and regulations，intention of safeguarding their legal rights，and the degree of satisfaction of the safeguarding results，and then analyzes the mechanism that influences the intention of safeguarding legal rights. According to the research，Guangzhou contemporary youth pay the most attention to the rights to live and develop，which are mainly reflected in education，medical care and individual development opportunity. Guangzhou Young people have understandings on relevant laws to a certain degree but still lack of systematic learning in general. Guangzhou Young people show relatively high degree of willingness to safeguard their legal rights via legal channels，yet there are only a few cases of taking actual legal actions. They have very average satisfaction degree regarding the effect of legal tools and results of safeguarding their legal rights. Their intention and action of safeguarding their legal rights are significantly influenced by social support，law recognition and effects of using laws for self-protection. The rights and interests of juveniles have drawn attention of the society，and there are various activities for education in this aspect，which show relatively desirable social effects. The development of youth is the talent guarantee of national development toward the direction of Guangdong and Hong Kong as well as other important cities of the Belt and Road Initiative. It is predicted that the future promotion of youth rights and interests will focus on the continuous unfolding propaganda and education on juveniles rights in schools and communities，the improvement of laws and regulations on employed youth’s rights to live and develop，and the further perfection of social support and individual case support on youth’s rights and interests maintenance.
