Improving the scientific literacy and skills of workers is a prerequisite for improving the development quality and building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. This paper reviews the basic situation of urban workers’ scientific literacy and skills，the major measures for improving their scientific literacy and skills，as well as the new situation they are facing. On this basis，it analyzes the basic trend of improving urban workers’ scientific literacy and skill level，namely，emphasizing more on high-quality employment and full employment，becoming more oriented to career development，sticking more to joint participation of various functional departments，paying more attention to institutionalization and platform construction，and enriching the content and form of scientific literacy and skills improvement.
