In order to understand the present situation of old-age service for the elderly living alone in urban communities of Guangzhou，the research group conducted a survey on the current situation of old-age care services for the elderly living alone in several communities in CK Street，Liwan District，SP Street，Tianhe District and ZC Street，Panyu District of Guangzhou City. It is found that there are still some problems in the macro level（government level），the intermediate level （community level） and the micro level （individual level） of community pension service for the elderly living alone in Guangzhou though some achievements have been made. Then，the research group analyzed the causes of the problems and put forward some suggestions for improving the provision of community-based old-age care services for the elderly living alone.
