The retail industry solutions market reached RMB1.6 billion in 2008. IDC forecasts that the solution market size will reach RMB2.8 billion by 2013 with 2008-2013 CAGR at 11.6%，higher than the CAGR of the IT construction market in the retail industry in the same period.

In 2008，retailers invested relatively more in shop operation system and point-of-sale system（POS&SOS），business management system（BMS）and enterprise resource management system（ERM）than in other IT systems. At present，the enterprises in different sectors and with different sizes in China’s retail industry vary greatly in terms of the informatization construction. The specific content of the IT applications also differs greatly，and most of the retail enterprises have not updated their concepts together with the technical upgrades. Instead，they pursue the most hi-end and expensive systems blindly，admire the power of systems，but don’t pay attention to the flexibility and expansibility of systems，lack consideration of safety，convenience and other details，and cannot combine them with the specific businesses.
