In the year 2018，the monitoring system collected 97，000 pieces of information related to the agriculture，rural areas and farmers in Tianjin municipality，with the majority in the second half of the year. Over 60 percent was carried by social media. The public praised the municipality for its concrete actions in implementing the Rural Revitalization strategy，reinforced efforts in agricultural and rural reform，high quality delivery of the development of modern urban agriculture，decisive crackdown on the building of non-agriculture facilities in the name of “greenhouses” on designated farmland，effective campaign on rural environment improvement for more beautiful countryside，introduction of the safe agricultural products program，and good harvest of Xiaozhan Rice，a local variety from Tianjin. Discussions erupted when the municipal police raided two facilities where illegally acquired wild migratory birds were hidden.
