5月22日,央视《经济半小时》报道称,青海龙羊峡水库养殖的淡水虹鳟已占据国内三文鱼市场的1/3。24日,@万戈杂记等微博账号纷纷发声,称“虹鳟不是三文鱼,不能生吃”,引发网民高度关注。相关行业协会、新华社等权威媒体随后接连发布专家学者专访,称“虹鳟是三文鱼,可以放心吃”。但网民仍存有质疑,舆论场上各执一词、自说自话。5月底,事件暂时平息。8月,《生食三文鱼》团体标准发布,将淡水虹鳟鱼归入三文鱼类别,再引热议。事件中,保障虹鳟鱼的食用安全、尊重消费者的知情权成为核心议题。
<<On 22 May 2018,Half-Hour Economy,a programme run by China Central Television,reported that the freshwater rainbow trout farmed in the Longyangxiao reservoir of Qinghai province represented one third of the salmon sold on the Chinese market. On 24 May,Wangezaji and other Weibo (a microblog platform) accounts began to claim that rainbow trout was not salmon and should not be consumed uncooked,causing great concerns among the citizens. Although trade associations and a number of leading media networks such as Xinhua News Agency cited experts who assured consumers that rainbow trout was salmon and safe to be consumed raw,people’s doubt was not dispelled and the debate remained heated with each side sticking to their argument. The discussion calmed down in late May but erupted again in August when association standards on salmon for raw consumption was released,which classified freshwater rainbow trout as salmon. At the core of this debate was the safety of consuming rainbow trout and the respect to consumers’ right to know.
