The Portuguese political situation remained stable in 2018. The ruling Socialist Party continued to receive parliamentary support from the Left-wing Group，the Portuguese Communist Party and the Portuguese Green Party. The government’s budget plan for 2019 could be passed smoothly. The prospects for economic growth are promising. In 2018，economic growth will benefit from domestic demand，export growth and the support of EU funds. The situation in the labour market has improved markedly，and the unemployment rate has reached its lowest level since 2004. China’s President Xi Jinping’s official state visit to Portugal every eight years further strengthens the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. In the future，China will build a “maritime partnership” and jointly build the 21st century Maritime Silk Road.
