<<In the year of 2017，the Portuguese-speaking countries has kept relatively steady and slow growth of economic development. Brazil is recovering from recession，showing a mild growth of the economy. Portugal’s 10-years sovereign debt crisis is under control，and the country showed a remarkable economic growth in 2017. The economic status of Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa and Asian is still under the effect of commodity prices falls. Poverty reduction became ever more important，since the population ofportugueses-speaking country has reached 282 million people. After the elections in Angola and Brazil，the society was stable，and the domestic and international policies of the two countries were receiving attention. President Xi Jinping held talks with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in Lisbon in December 2018，they signed a memorandum of understanding on the cooperation over the Belt and Road Initiative（BRI）. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of The Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries（Macao）.
