Protecting and in heriting the intangible cultural heritage is of great significance in realizing the comprehensive，coordinated and sustainable development of Henan’s economy and society. In recent years，the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Henan province has been developing well and has achieved remarkable results，while，there still exist some problems that cannot be ignored，such as the lack of successors of intangible cultural heritage，the excessive development，the weak innovation ability and the extinction of some intangible cultural heritage. Faced with the problems above，Henan province adheres to the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Regulations of Henan Province on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage，staking to the guideline of “protection the main task，rescuing the first，rational use and development through inheritance”. At present，a successful mode of protecting intangible cultural heritage has gradually formed with the basic work done quite well and the intangible project protected effectively.
