Although the protection of China’s intangible cultural heritage has achieved initial results，the protection of Marine intangible cultural heritage is still in the elementary stage of development. This paper systematically reviews the important progress of this year’s work on the marine intangible cultural heritage from four aspects：institutional guarantee，industrialization development，academic research and popularization of knowledge. Under the current social background，the continuous transition of Marine cultural space has posed an important challenge for us to carry out the work of Marine intangible cultural heritage protection. In addition，the intervention of administrative forces and market factors has gradually standardized and programmed the protection of marine intangible cultural heritage，which violates our idea of living heritage that we emphasize. In the future，the inheritance and protection of the marine intangible cultural heritage will face great challenges.
