The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out that it is necessary to firmly grasp the people’s yearning for a better life and to enable the citizens to have a more fulfilling and sustainable sense of achievement and happiness. According to the survey，the composition of household expenditure of people is reasonable，with more than ninety-sixth percent of them spending on culture；citizens are satisfied with the recent living standard，condition and the environment in general，and confident with the life in the future；citizens are optimistic to the economic development in Guangzhou，accepting the cultural environment and recognizing the eco-environment the best improvement in recent years；personal development，social justice and social insurance are the aspects that most interviewees expect to improve；the highest expectation to Guangzhou better life in the future are civil prosperity and agreeable environment；more than seventy percent of interviewees are absolutely optimistic of living and working in peace and contentment in Guangzhou in the next three years；more than seventy percent of interviewees recognize that the promotion of medical care，employment and income could somehow improve the sense of happiness.
