A good ecological environment is the foundation of human survival and development. Protecting the ecological environment and promoting pollution prevention are related to the well-being of the people and the sustainable development of the Chinese nation. Since 2016，Henan Province has launched a tough battle against atmospheric pollution and strict environmental supervision and enforcement. At the end of 2018，the annual average concentration of inhalable particulate matter and fine particulate matter in the province was reduced to 103 and 61 μg/m3 respectively，which was 22.0% and 25.6% lower than that in 2014. This paper describes the introduction of air pollution control policies in Henan Province in recent years，and analyzes the main effects of air pollution control in the province，including improvement of air quality indicators，emission reduction of major pollutants and emission reduction effects of major industries.
