Since 2018，China’s planning and arrangement for Internet and new media work is getting dedicated and intense. National strategic deployment provides fundamental guarantee for new media layout and development. Driving by national policy，the concept and value of new media has been redefined and the China’s power in the global new media landscape has been strengthened. At present，Chinese Internet and new media are developing with the following features：digital economics leading high-quality economic development；new trends like information consumption，new retail and stream media coming up；multiple subjects strategically deploying industrial Internet；innovations of industrial Internet speeding up；“Internet+” strategies being promoted comprehensively；digital economy and real economy converging in depth；“Intelligence+” pushing the building of digital ecosystem. Big data boosts the modernization of national governing while digital governance has become the key of current Internet governance with Internet security and supervising network according to law being the essence. Converging media center construction of county level has been raised as national strategy. With deepening of media convergence，new media development is playing a leading role in “Belt and Road” construction. With new media development moving forward，there are some problems can not be ignored：the increasing risks of network security；copyright administration to be improved；standardization of artificial intelligence development；faster transformation of traditional media；reinforcement for international network mutual trust and common governance cooperation.
